It is Easier…

 By Jeff Belknap

  • To say a person is STILL MARRIED after an unscriptural divorce than to say THE PUT AWAY must remain unmarried or be reconciled (Mt. 5:32b; 19:9b; Lk. 16:18; I Cor. 7:11).

  • To JUSTIFY an errorist who is a close associate than to ENCOURAGE his repentance (Lk. 16:15; Prov. 17:18).

  • To SELL OUT THE TRUTH than to BUY IT AND SELL IT NOT (Prov. 23:23).

  • To REDEFINE Bible terms and words to bolster a false doctrine than to HARMONIZE the oracles of God (II Tim. 2:15; I Pet. 4:11; II Pet. 3:16).

  • To COMMEND those friends who are in error than to CONTEND with them (Prov. 28:4).

  • To DISMISS AN ISSUE’S IMPORTANCE by claiming that it belongs in Romans 14 than to HONESTLY EXAMINE IT WITH THE LIGHT of truth (II Thess. 5:21; I Jn. 4:1, 5-6).

  • To MAKE FALSE ACCUSATIONS against the opposition than to USE SCRIPTURE TO DEFEND THE ACTUAL TEACHING that has been called into question (I K. 18:17; Gal. 4:16; I Pet. 4:4).

  • To DENY PUBLICATION of a current issue than to allow OPEN EXAMINATION of issues which compel the publication’s staff writers to take a defensive stance (Jn. 3:19-21).

  • To CONDEMN CHRISTIANITY MAGAZINE for their unwillingness to openly discuss an MDR issue than to CONDEMN THE ASSOCIATES OF TRUTH MAGAZINE for the same actions.

  • To remain SILENT than to CONTEND for the faith (Isa. 56:10; I Tim. 6:12; Jude 3).

  • To MAKE EXCUSES than to be FAITHFUL (Lk. 14:18).

Why is this true?

Simply because it is easier…

To travel the BROAD WAY than to travel the NARROW WAY (Mt. 7:13-14).
